Families like the same pandit returning: he learns the household's ways, the order of the aarti, where the chowki goes. Ask for him in each month's request; if he is not available on that date, you will hear it on the call-back, before anything is confirmed, and another pandit can be suggested.
A monthly katha uses the same items each time — roli, akshat, kalawa, agarbatti, ghee, kapoor — plus fresh fruits, flowers and tulsi. Keep a stock of the dry items at home, from Hari Store or a samagri kit, and buy only the fresh items each month.
