Roka & Tilak Ceremony Cost in Lucknow
The cost of a roka or tilak depends on how much of it you want handled. A pandit with samagri is the simplest piece. Decorated shagun thalis and trays add a little more, traditional floral décor for the ceremony area is a bigger line, and a complete roka package with décor, pandit and catering for both families costs the most. What you see listed is where each option starts, and your written quote reflects your guest count, venue, menu and the date your pandit has fixed.

Cost factorsWhat decides the price of a roka ceremony
Food is usually the largest part of a roka package. A close-family gathering is very different from a full ceremony with both sides and the neighbours, and the menu, number of dishes and style of service all add up per guest.
A ceremony at home saves hall charges but may need more lighting, seating and covering of the space. A hall comes with its own rules and charges. For a tilak at the groom's home, the setup depends on how much room there is for the visitors.
A marigold backdrop and a decorated chowki cost far less than a full floral stage with drapes and lights. Flower choice matters too: seasonal flowers are kinder to the budget than imported or out-of-season blooms.
Some families send a few trays; others carry many, with clothes, sweets, dry fruit, fruit and gifts each in a tray of their own. Every tray, its decoration and any custom name tags add to the total.
Auspicious dates in the winter wedding season are in heavy demand, and an early-morning muhurat may mean the setup is done overnight. Both can change what a pandit, decorator or caterer quotes for that day.
Save moneyWays to keep the cost down
- Hold the roka at home with close family and spend the saving on good food rather than a hall.
- Choose seasonal flowers like marigold and rose for the décor instead of imported blooms.
- Ask for a thali and tray design that you can reuse for the later wedding functions.
- If you already have a family pandit, book only the décor and thalis and leave the rituals to them.

FAQRoka & Tilak Ceremony Cost — questions
Does the roka package include food?
Yes, the roka ceremony package covers décor, pandit and catering. The menu, the number of dishes and how many guests are served are agreed during the call and written into your quote, so you know exactly what the catering includes.
Can we book only the décor and thalis without the pandit?
Yes. Many families have a pandit they have relied on for years and only need help with the setup. You can book the tilak décor or the shagun thalis and trays on their own, and the quote will list only those items.
What happens to the advance if the tilak is postponed or cancelled?
Family plans do change. On a cancellation, the advance is adjusted against whatever has already been spent, such as flowers bought or trays prepared, and the remainder comes back to you. If Hari Event is unable to deliver a confirmed ceremony, you get back everything you paid.
