Satyanarayan Katha Cost in Lucknow
Satyanarayan Katha is one of the more affordable poojas to arrange, and the differences between the listings come from what you add around it rather than from the katha itself. A pandit with samagri covers the ritual completely. Prasad for a crowd, a havan at the end, and décor and seating for a bigger gathering each add their own line. Your written quote separates them, so you can keep the katha simple and still feed everyone, or go fuller for a family milestone.

Cost factorsWhat decides the price of a satyanarayan katha
The basic listing includes samagri. If you already keep most of the items — chowki, kalash, cloth, a Satyanarayan picture — the pandit can work with them and the quote adjusts. Fruits, tulsi and flowers still need to be fresh on the day.
Panjiri, bananas and panchamrit for twenty people and for a hundred are very different amounts of ghee, dry fruits and work. Once you choose the prasad option, the guest count is what moves the quote.
A havan brings a kund, samidha, ghee and havan samagri, and extends the pandit's time by about an hour. It is optional, and many families add it only on bigger occasions such as a griha pravesh or a recovery.
A banana-stem mandap and a few flowers cost little. Floral décor, a backdrop and mats or chairs for a large gathering cost more, and the size of the room or hall decides how much seating is needed.
Purnima evenings and festival weeks are busy, and dates close to an occasion book fast. An unusual hour, or a home far out on the city's edges, adds to the pandit's travel and time; the quote states it plainly.
Save moneyWays to keep the cost down
- Make the panjiri at home and book only the pandit with samagri.
- Skip the décor option for a small gathering — a banana-stem mandap over the chowki is enough.
- If you plan a katha every Purnima, keep your own stock of dry samagri and buy only fresh items each month.

FAQSatyanarayan Katha Cost — questions
Why is a katha less expensive than a griha pravesh?
A katha needs one pandit, a short samagri list and no Vastu vidhi. The cost grows only if you add a havan, prasad for many guests, or décor.
Is the dakshina extra?
The quote includes the pandit's dakshina for the katha. Any offering you choose to make at the end — fruits, clothes or something more — is a personal gesture outside our bill.
Does the quote change if more guests come?
The katha itself does not change. Prasad and seating do, so give your best estimate; if numbers rise, tell us before the day and we will revise the quote in writing.
Tell us the date and the guest count — we call back with ideas and a written quote. Nothing is charged online for an event service.
